Free-flowing BC rivers dominate the region, and, whether sightseeing, wildlife viewing or fishing in BC, one truly memorable way to enjoy them is on a riverboat. Jetboating is an exhilarating experience over fast-flowing rapids and shallow waters where deeper-hulled boats can’t go, bringing you closer to nature’s wonders from a unique vantage point not available on dry land.
By far, the most popular BC river boating destination in Tumbler Ridge is the Murray River. From the boat launch five minutes from downtown along Highway 29, or from a second launch on the Murray River Forest Service Road, the river winds its way upstream to Kinuseo Falls. The view from the base of this 60 m (197 ft) marvel is nothing short of spectacular. Heading downstream from the launches will run you past breathtaking Canada waterfalls, such as Bergeron Falls (almost twice as high as Kinuseo), the Painted Canyon and on down to the Pine River near Chetwynd.
Don't have a boat? Tour operators can get you out onto the water and show you the sights. A four-hour guided tour to Kinuseo Falls makes for an unforgettable excursion. Discover the Monkman Pass Memorial Trail’ scenic hiking, BC’s most challenging, and finish with a riverboat tour all the way to Prince George on the Herrick River.
