Gwillim Lake
Escape to Gwillim Lake Provincial Park, where the rustling of pine trees and the gentle sounds of waves create a serene atmosphere. Located in the breathtaking Rocky Mountain Foothills along Highway 29, just a 30-minute drive from Chetwynd and Tumbler Ridge, the park offers a variety of outdoor activities including canoeing, kayaking, swimming, hiking, fishing and stunning views of the Rocky Mountains from the viewpoint.

Camping.
Experience the great outdoors with 50 vehicle/tent campsites, complete with fire pits and picnic tables. There is a hand pump for drinking water (but be sure to check for boil water advisories) and take comfort in the conveniently located pit toilets. Enjoy a fee-based daily camping experience.

Boating.
Boaters of all kinds are welcome on this expansive stretch of water. So, grab your water-skis and tubes and get ready for some fun in the sun! Convenient boat launch and ample parking with a trailer turnaround make accessing the water a breeze.

Fishing.
Gwillim Lake boasts an abundant variety of fish including lake trout, bull trout, northern pike, mountain whitefish, artic grayling, and burbot. Make sure to secure your Anglers license before embarking on your fishing adventure.

Trails
Discover the scenic beauty of the lake through hiking or biking on designated trails marked by posted signs. For your safety, kindly observe these signs during your journey.

Amenities
Take a break and immerse yourself in the tranquility of the lake at our day-use area, complete with a beach, picnic tables, and a beautiful dock, perfect for a leisurely day spent enjoying the natural surroundings.

Swimming
Gwillim Lake is chilly! For a more comfortable swim experience, we recommend staying close to the shore where the water is shallow and warmer. Please note that swimming is at your own discretion as there are no lifeguards on duty.

Open to public access May 12, 2023 to September 10, 2023.
This may change with earlier opening dates or later closing dates depending on weather.
Book a Campsite
All campsite reservations must be made through the BC Parks reservations service. When reservations are not available all campsites function as first-come, first-served.
How to Get Here
This park is located 49 km northwest of Tumbler Ridge and 56 km southeast of Chetwynd; take Highway 29 south off Highway 97 (paved access).

Off-Road Vehicles (ORVs) are prohibited in this park. ORVs include ATVs, off-road motorcycles, snowmobiles and side-by-sides.
